searchControl.execute( )

I am trying to add the google ajax api dearch engine to my web site:

www.dasfoosmaster.com

I'm not a real program and I know little bit about about javascript
but I know nothing about Ajax/API. So please bare with me. I took the
basic code from the Developer's Guide page. However the
searchControl.execute( ) has an initial setting for example purposes,
how do I change it to where it takes the value that is entered in the
search engine input field?

I'm not seeing the application at the link you provided, but what you
might want to do is switch from using a plain searcher to using
GSearchControl. It will provide you with a ready-made solution,
including integrated search box, etc. Just scroll down a little in
the developer guide, and you'll find it explained and demonstrated.
