Hi,

I have not found the rate limitation information of Google AJAX API in FAQs of this group nor AJAX-API developer pages.

And to make sure about it, I would like to know are there any limits on search query to Google API Sever.

Thanks and Best Regards,
-Kyi Kyi Swe

No limit on the number of queries, just on the number of results you
can retrieve. Currently, you can retrieve up to 64 results with most
searchers (Local and Blog are the two exceptions), 8 results at a
time.

Any option of overcoming the limit on number of results and specifying
user required limit?

The number of results has just been increased to 64.  However, there is no way to get more than this number.

It seems that other websites are able to get beyond 64 results from
Google. Not sure if they are using this API or not. (i.e. Viewzi.com).
Maybe they are using a CSE.

It's tough to say what's going on with sites like viewzi.com because a
lot of them hide their search functionality server-side or in compiled
Flash applications, etc. That said, there are a couple of options out
there that they could be utilizing to access Google search results.
The first one, of course, is the AJAX Search API. It must be noted,
however, that, if this is the case, they are violating the API's terms
of use by mixing results from Google with other sources (e.g.,
Yahoo!). Alternatively, if they obtained a key before it was
deprecated in December 2006, they could be utilizing the SOAP Search
API, which returned up to 1,000 results but had a rather stringent
rate limit. Beyond that, they could be screen scraping (which would
be against Google's general TOU) to take the results directly from
Google's web interface, or they may have formed some other agreement.

Yea, I'm not sure what's going on with those types of sites. There are
many of them out there. I agree, it seems as though they are violating
the TOU, or have reached some sort of agreement with Google, which
seems a bit counter to Google's ad-based business model.
