Can I hide search box and search results, but plot results on a map?

to Google AJAX APIs
I am considering using the search API to find local schools and
businesses in the area. The one catch is that we would like to
disable and hide the search box as well as the search results controls
in our implementation.
Rather than allowing the user to search for anything using the search
box control, we would like to provide hotspots for predefined
searches. When these searches are executed, the search results will
be plotted on a map located on the same page.
Also, we would like to hide the search results control because we will
be implementing this in a corporate real estate website and we do not
want it to look as if we are sponsoring the schools and businesses
listed in the search results.

So, my question is regarding the terms and services of the Google AJAX
Search API. Am I required to show the search box and/or search
results? If not, am I required to show any form of additional Google
branding on the site (i.e. something like "Search results powered by
Google")?

Thanks in advance for you help.

In short, yes, you must include Google branding conspicuously and in
proximity to the search results. There are other terms, too. You'll
want to review the link above.
