Overal Requests

Hi,

I am not sure what does overall requests means in my admob. Admob
shows over %99 fill rate with admob banners. But when I select "All Ad
Types" from Reporting page. The fill rate shows 60% fill rate. What
does that mean?

I use Adhwhirl. My backfill order is 1 iAds, 2 Admob, 3 Mobclix.

If my actual fill rate was 99% mobclix should get very few requests.
But actually mobclix is getting %40 requests. This means when admob
can't fill the banner mobclix is giving it.

But its even more complicated. When I turn of mobclix from Adwhirl.
Admob is getting all these requests.

I don't know the difference between Requests and Overall Requests in
Admob. Please help.

This is indeed puzzling. When I click on 'Customize Reporting Criteria' under 'Sites & Apps Reporting' and select 'All Ad Types' I suddenly see the number of requests increase by over 100 percent and the fill rate drops from over 95 to around 40 percent. The absolute number of impressions stays the same.

Maybe 'All Ad Types' includes the requests that are forwarded to AdSense whereas 'AdMob Ads' does not. That would mean the actual fill rate would not nearly be as good as the default report suggests.

What's even more puzzling is that I see a couple of House Ad Impressions. I don't have any House Ads configured so where does that come from? House Ad Impressions are only between 10 and 20 a day but it's strange nonetheless.

Can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance,
Markus

Good find Fugo! I know if this were some "trick" on AdMob's part, it
would not be available on the website. But it looks like they may have
an error in reporting somewhere... maybe this will help them.

I selected an app ID and ran the report. I have three observations:

1. Until 8/31, the "AdMob Ads" and "All Ad Types" are identical. After
that, they diverge. Does anyone else see this? This may explain
another issue I've been researching...

2. We have never run house ads on this app ID, but starting on 9/1 it
has "House Ad Impressions." Again, does anyone else see this? (The
highest level of impressions was 0.25%, and most days are 0.01% or
less, but that still a lot more than 0.)

3. Most days, the "missing" requests are about 20% of all requests. On
10/2, it was 47% (requests dropped dramatically for us that day -
without any explanation until now). Is this what anyone else is
seeing? Do those numbers look similar?

If anyone else sees this, or maybe if AdMob can confirm the
discrepancy, it would be helpful to hear an explanation from them.

Thanks,
Jim

It is a very interesting finding. Now I know why the data report from adwhirl looked like unbelievable.

AdMob should give an explaination which is  real fill rate.

Yes, right.

Most of my app don't have house AD. But it gives me the report about
many house AD requests from 9/1 and 1 or 2 shown house ad. The peak
can be found at 9/21 which is the negative updating day. And from Oct,
most of requests are house AD requests instead of normal admob ad.

We never found that before. That's a good hint.

BTW, thanks Fugo, the adwhirl to host multiple ad source is good. We
may change the way to load ad.

Seeing the same thing with the house ads. I have house ads turned off,
but the report shows several house ad impressions. Something seems
seriously wrong at AdMob lately...
