As suggested by Stephen on the Joda Time team, a re-fork or maybe a
incorporation in the joda time project might be an idea?

It might even be easy to compile Joda Time 1.6 with GWT 1.5?

I assume most of the difficulties with the port involved removing the
conversion functionality to and from java.util.Calendar. It looks
like it also makes use of the SecurityManager API as well. I'm
assuming those can be removed fairly easily.

I am certainly open to incorporation within the Joda-Time project.
That would certainly facilitate keeping up with the TimeZone updates.

Do you think they have any interest in supporting GWT?

I don't personally have the time or interest in the GWT port. However,
I am willing to offer CVS space within the main Joda-Time CVS.

I can see three approaches
1) fork here
2) fork within the Joda-Time CVS
3) alter the original Joda-Time codebase to add conditional
compilation and a separate jar file output.

While the last is theoretically the best, I am concerned that I
wouldn't be able to test it or release it without someone else
verifying the GWT part.

The difference between #1 and #2 is simply where the code resides. If
it is here, I'm happy to add a link to it.

It looks to me like forking here is the simplest option, unless you
want it to officially be 'Joda-Time GWT' (still maintained by you)
