can I customize god's logging behavior?

I want to log every time god restarts a mongrel, but I don't want to
see log messages for all of the times it performs its checks. How can
I create log messages that occur only on events I choose to report?

Here here; I was surprised to see that God doesn't log everything to a
file that god log <taskname> logs. I'd also like to hear/see any ideas
about customizing log behavior.
