Take it with a pinch of salt Bhushan. That the mail is from disgruntled elements is obvious from the fact that no Nathan Pinto works there. Obviously someone trying to ruffle feathers. Of course they have found easy targets. It's amusing that the person who wrote the letter has complained about copy editing when the writer himself/herself has poor command over the English language.

Hi,
Live long and prosper

Boss, Salil is a very good sub. And does not need any help to climb.
And BTW he would have been a chief sub in NT itself as he refused the post before he left for TOI
I do not know about the others.
But interesting, though some of the observations are in bad taste. U cannot malign people, read personal life, just because u feel aggrieved about something at work. absolute BS.

Glenn,

Long live and prosper you too (where's this saying from anywhere)?

Was just wondering where the punctuations in the above sentence should be:

But, interestingly though, some of the observations are in bad taste.

But, interesting though some of the observations are, they are in bad taste.

Interestingly, some of the observations are in bad taste.

Some of the observations are in interestingly bad taste.

This reads like one of those classic sentences you teach in journalism
class, when intending to explain the importance of correct
punctuation. But I should be the last person to poke fun, since I've
made some horrible errors (both of judgement and ignorance) during my
days as a trainee/sub/chief-sub at the Herald! FN

What do you mean? Can you be more specific? Very few journos in Goa stretch their necks out to speak BOLDLY? Perhaps you could try to do so. It is never too late. Unity among journos in Goa has always been a drawback. Right, ex-GUJ prez Ashley? Your case in Herald was certainly a let-downner till you got help from a former buddy who is now doing the same to his colleagues.

To take your point forward Sebastian....

Contrary to what several newspaper predicted, its not Mickkey who has borne the brunt of NCP's relatively poor showing in the Maharashtra polls.

Guys at the Sakal-run newspaper/s have had to bid a bit too many sayonaras of late...

The bogey of cost-cutting looms large on the staffers at the group's two newspapers, with one person already having to put in his papers. The 'drive' may not end with him.
Perhaps Sakal should start whittling down the mini fortune it spens on on supporting the mumbo jumbo doc balaji tambe (does he still function from the same gomantak building?)

Hopefully, now that the 3-Ss are out of Gomantak, there will be fewers corners to cut.

Dear Maya,

May be the Sakal Group will discover other folks who are on double pay-rolls ...and knock them off from Sakal's list of beneficiaries! They can then go and stand "shoulder to shoulder"  [Lamba dahine, chota baye] in the casino joints floating in Punj-ab, land of the one river ...... Mandovi!

This is perfect setting for a rap song.  Here's a little bit.

Sad sack sits on a block of stone
The three s weeping in the corner all alone
Did u ever hear of the french revolution
It has come again to haunt journos with no conclusion

Yea man its the guillotine with the head on the block
Who's next whose gonna leave the flock
Well wait and watch for the next quake
Then everybody is gonna have to shake
Playing mind games is part of the game
So all those who thought they were in have to leave with a shame

So dont you think you did any wrong
And allow me to think of more lyrics for this stitched up rap song

.... cheers all, some more next time.  Sebastian

Gr8 lyrics. All the best in whatever you do, Sebastian. I still believe that if we remain united, nobody can harm us. Any takers, there? I am sure there will be none. Till then, I will continue to fight my lone battle against injustice to me.
Sadly, it is the same in all organisations. So take heart, Sebastian. Those near you, only take you for a ride but are helpless to deal in such situations though they hold positions of power. An important lesson to note.
GARY.

Hi Maya

It reminds me of the good old english phrase - the last one goes first.
the old turkey buzzard tried to aim higher, got his wings clipped and cwashed, then came the turn of the guillotine chopper, head on the block and then the whopper.

ha ha ha ha stayin alive haan ji ha ha ha ha stayin alive... you people of the journo.

hey sam didn't i tell u to git yur ass outta there...oops pardner, say what?  come again.  oops now tis too late.

cheers sebastian.
