Just came across news of two deaths of people we might know:

* ASHRAF HASANWALE (Dona Paula): Anyone who worked with Rajan Narayan
would know of Ashraf. In a two-page tribute penned in the latest Goan
Observer (Nov 7-13, 2009), Narayan has described him as "my adopted
son, my dearest friend, who was always there for me in sickness and in
health". Ashraf died of suspected rabies, and the tribute to him tells
of the travails he faced in diagnosing and coping with the virus.
Ashraf (48) was the Panjim distribution manager of the Goan Observer.

* Gomantak Times has reported the death of Venugopal Nair, 36, husband
of journalist Preetu Nair, who died from a brain hammorrhage while in
Kerala. He was a lecturer at the Department of History, Goa
University. Condolences to Preetu and the family on the untimely death
of Venugopal.

Just sharing the information. FN
