Some lines in the manual start with a apostrophe (') or a full
stop (.), but that means a command line in a file for the *roff
formatters.

If the manual file "autogsdoc.1" is made from the file
"autogsdoc.m", then the transformation must protect the apostrophe
and the period (with \&), if they are the first nonspace character
in a line.
