Will GCC still be officially maintained in C (along side with C++) under GNU?

Or the C implementaion version just dropped or what?

We're converting to C++.  GCC will need a C++ compiler.
It's an odd question to ask.  Why does it matter?

Andrew.

Hi Andrew

I think C++ is too complex and *horrible* language :)

In case the C++ implementation fails,
the community still has the chance to switch back to C implementation
if it always keeps the C version maintained.

Well, that would negate the purpose of switching to C++, which is to
reduce the maintenance cost of GCC.  There's nothing to stop people
who don't like C++ from maintaining the C version them selves.

Andrew.
