Hi

Was anybody able to make jdee work with emacs 24.1 rc?

Please let me know the instructions if you were able to do so.

Thanks,
Raj

I tried repeatedly to get some support in Emacs circles and the irc
channel but, well, JDEE seems to have floundered. There have been
numerous attempts to restart it but all appear to end in failure. Like
mixed mode programming, there are better solutions out there. There
might be some CEDET java support now. Sorry if that doesnt sound too
optimistic or helpful. but its been my experience.

Yes, I got it working. You need:

1. The svn version of jdee.

2. The bzr version of cedet (not the new branch)

Thanks for your replies Richard/Charles.

Charles:

In my case, it seems the cedet version that comes with emacs 24.1 is getting included even though I changed the cedet version in the build.properties file.

jde-compile-get-javac: Symbol's function definition is void: jde-java-version
Making completion list...
require: Wrong number of arguments: #[(toggle name)
[toggle semantic-minor-mode-alist mm name semantic-mode-line-update boundp desktop-minor-mode-handlers add-to-list semantic-desktop-ignore-this-minor-mode] 5 ("/usr/local/share/emacs/24.1/lisp/cedet/semantic/util-modes.elc" . 2829)], 3

Could you suggest any workarounds for this problem?

Here is my build.properties file and relevant section of .emacs file:

config.time=2012/06/09 23\:38
cedet.dir=/home/rajanikanth/cedet
elib.dir=/home/rajanikanth/Downloads/elib-1.0
prefix.dir=/usr/local/jdee
build.bin.emacs=/usr/local/bin/emacs

(add-to-list 'load-path "/home/rajanikanth/cedet/lisp")
(add-to-list 'load-path "/home/rajanikanth/trunk/jdee/dist/jdee-2.4.1/lisp")
(load "jde-autoload")

Thanks,
Raj
