        I have been using this special .rc file for several years. It grows and grows. The Fedora Core bash (bash-4.2.28-1.fc16.x86_64)
        does not produce this error.

        After invoking this newly compiled bash, I enter . /.grgrc (a link to /root/.grgrc). The message is produced. If you want
        more information, I would be most happy to do whatever is required.
