Bash Version: 3.2
Patch Level: 48
Release Status: release

Description:
I've noticed that if you full screen bash in a graphical interface, and
click "view" then uncheck menubar, you cannot escape the terminal unless
you type
in exit. Kinda annoying when you are doing something important in bash.

Repeat-By:
View, fullscreen, view, uncheck show menubar

Fix:
I would suggest instead of the menubar dissapearing, you could have it
pop out whenever the mouse pointer touches the top of the screen.

Where are you seeing any menubar in bash?
You're probably referring to the terminal in which bash is running. In that
case, it's likely that it's a problem with the specific terminal
implementation (eg gnome terminal, konsole or others).

That has absolutely nothing at all to do with Bash.

With the background you listed I will guess that you are running
gnome-terminal. Obviously this doesn't have anything to do with bash
since bash isn't a graphical terminal application but is simply one of
the many applications that you might choose to run in the graphical
terminal.

Several comments that might help you anyway, off-topic though they
are. The easiest is to right click on gnome-terminal to bring up the
application menu and select Show Menubar again. Another is that F11
is the normal keyboard shortcut to toggle fullscreen mode in GNOME
applications and is accessible even when the menubar has been turned
off. Also in many window managers ALT-TAB may be used to cycle
between applications and will also probably be available. All of this
depending up the specific window manager you are actually using.

That seems reasonable suggestion to make to your terminal program
author as a configurable option.
