Unix-Linux Admin Role
Position Summary
Responsible for helping on remediation tasks related to Tier 2 operational support activities of Unix-Linux servers.
Technical Skills
 A minimum of 5 – 7 years of server administration experience.

 Primary experience required:
o Sun Solaris 8,9,10 (advanced experience required; majority of environment)
o Red Hat Operating Systems 4 & 5 (advanced experience required; majority of environment)
o HP-UX (intermediate experience required; only 5% of environment)
o Open VMS (intermediate experience required; only 5% of environment)
o Storage technologies (EMC, Volume Manager, Disk Suite, LVM, NFS)
o HP/Dell server technologies
o High Availability Clustering Technologies including Veritas Clustering Services
o Server Virtualization Technologies across Linux, and Solaris Operating Systems
o Remote Server Management Technologies
o High Availability Solutions including Replication, Load Balancing, Disaster Recovery Tools
o Advanced ability to troubleshoot Unix and TCP/IP networking.

 Experience in the following desired but not required:
o Scripting
o EMC SAN Storage

o Understanding of ITIL concepts

 Participate in on-call support as required
 Experience directly interfacing with 3rd party support vendors

