I was wondering if there was any way for GMarks to grab the username
and password from the LastPass extension. I am trying to move away
from the Firefox Password manager and start using LastPass. GMarks is
the only thing still stored in Firefox.

I really think LastPass should integrate better with the Firefox system so that wouldn't be necessary. You don't really need to have GMarks sign in for you as long as you sign in through Google and tell it to remember you.

The problem with that is I don't always go to google before I try to
use my bookmarks. Normally the first things I do when I open the
browser is sign in to lastpass and then select a bookmark from the
gmarks menu. Since I haven't gone to a google site, I must also sign
into gmarks. I'm just trying to make it one less sign in for me.

My point is if you have Google remember you then you won't need to
keep signing in. Just make sure you check the remember me box. As far
as integrating into lastpass I don't think that is the way to go. I
really think its lastpass's job to make sure that isn't required for
extensions.

well, yes, but if you do have google remember you, or even save your login and password in the gmarks interface, then anyone who gets on your machine has access to not only your gmarks, but all of your google applications, including gmail.
that's why i have to sign in manually.
