You're Gmail too much time. Gmail itself will only have an "era" of
7-9 years. Google, however, will have an era of 15-20 years.

1998-2000 was Hotmail era then. Personally I think 1998-2003 was
Hotmail era and the Yahoo! era was 2001-2004 (overlap) and the Gmail
era is 2004-? - then after that Mind Mail or something...

Well, sure, it will eventually be a patch, but for now we're stuck
with the helmet - after all, it's only in beta still, give them a
chance. Still beats the keyboard/mouse hands down I reckon - my only
problem is the way it uses 'look and scroll' technology - being
cross-eyed, I find it hard to control at times :-)

Could you please concentrate on de-bugging the ocular interface then
Cracell - if I wear my glasses while using the system it sets up a
loop with refraction between the screen and my glasses, and if I don't
wear them, I find myself skipping from one tab to another without
warning as my eyes don't hold focus well without them - which has
proved embarassing on occasion when I have my website open and someone
a little old-fashioned is here.

how the crap did you get the beta?! were in alpha!! wow, I must of missed a memo

but don't worry, we have a solution, take 20mg of ritalin 1 hour
before you use the helmet, and the problem won't happen, we are
working on a system to inject it into your blood stream, but we had
one test subject die, so like his family is sueing us or something,
but whenever they lawyer calls are phones, he is guided though a
computer help system designed by microsoft, which of course give no
information and is merely a loop, but it seems like their is info
right around the corner

haha I love the evilness of M$

anyways though the ritalin thing should work

Bluetooth? Cross-eyed?
For one, you shouldn't be using Bluetooth, as it has quite a slow
transfer rate. You should be using wFirewire4 or wUSB4.2, which can
handle terabytes of data per second. No ownder people are getting
headaches from your devices, they have a lag in the data-transfer. Its
like watching a full-screen movie on a stream witha 56k modem!

Chris, why do you still have cross-eyes? Do you not have the 20 bucks
it costs to fix this? Or are you still affraid of the audio-niddle?

Audio-niddles haven't been approved for use yet here in Australia -
we're a little behind the 8-ball there.

Btw, my doc says she won't prescribe ritalin cos it might interfere
with the anti-psychotic drugs she's got me on at the moment, so I
might have to actually open one of those spam cyber-pharmacy emails
that are filling up my yahoo account and see if I can get some online.

As far as I see - Quoted text 'usually' works...

Sometimes however I see people quoting 3-4 replies - & theyre not
included in the 'quoted text' thing...

- I wonder if the Gmail team can have an option to purge / Remove the
quoted text...

(saves space - ) - But im only on 13-14 % now - Dont need it yet - But
eventually - people will be getting close to the 1,000 megs

You're shaming people for deleting messages? Why are you so intent on
users keeping every message? That is a hypothetical question, btw.

If users want to delete messages, then we want to delete messages. It
is that simple, and no explanation should be needed. If Google wants
everyone to use Gmail, then they will have give us Delete
functionality. If users have to justify wanting to delete messages,
we'll just use another email app.

Hmm, your concept of the egg slice sounds quite interesting. You
should try making body-casts using chocolate or pasta noodles. It's
really fun and messy.

I don't like eBooks. If I do take the time to read a book, I rather do
it the old fashion way, on a sofa, or outside, in the sun.

There's one situation when I don't hesitate in deleting a message (not
a conversation), it is when someone sends me an attachment which I
have to forward to others. In this case I get two copies of the same
attachment and I would definitely not need two copies. So I delete one
of the messages (usually the forwarded message). Other than that I
delete nothin, jus' nothin.

sometimes... as Gordon said ... gmail wudnt hide the quoted text...
and sometimes it would hide even the contents of the mail...

i have observed this a couple of times especially when the mail i am
seeing has already been replied to, and because of some server delays,
the reply is delivered before the original mail.... in such cases the
original mail (owing the time-date stamp) is placed above the the
reply but the text is quoted (as its being repeated in the reply)...

has any1 else noticed this!

regards,
Ashish.

hmm... curious. :-)
Why would someone email an attachment to you, just for you to forward
it to other people? (Why doesn't zie forward it zieself?)

I think we should all say a prayer for all those poor lost messages,
those deleted email's!!!!

they get no gravestone, no nothing, just gone forever, I hope you all
have a moment of silence for them, they are email's like this
brothers, and sisters, but gone forever...such a sad sad thing

I'm dancing on their graves.

I've always wanted to dance on a grave. I just can't dance.

yeah, I know plenty of graves to dance on...but is it really worth
learning to dance just to make some dead guy mad? I don't think so.
