Entourage with gmail

[North Country Maturing Gardener]

HI Everyone...can I use gmail and send it through Entourage? Also,
what about the memory issues? I understand Entourage uses up too
much! Thanks!

Why not use your Mac's native Mail.app?  It's pretty simple to use, and once you put in your GMail address, I'm pretty sure it fills in the rest of the settings for you.

Gmail supports POP/IMAP protocols so enable the relevant one under
Settings in the web interface and then configure your Entourage as per
'other client' on the link Nick mentioned for IMAP, or
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=12805 for POP.
Being a m$ product, I would expect Entourage to perform poorly :P
May I also suggest Thunderbird as an alternative, http://GetThunderbird.com/

I used to use Entourage before switching to gmail. I LOVED it! I
thought it did SO much more than either gmail or Mail.
Yes, I could use Mail, my husband uses it and I help him as he's a
struggling computer user. I think there are a number of issues Mail
has that I'd just as soon not get involved with.
I have ALWAYS been a Mac user since the first Mac appeared, but I
think Entourage beats all email programs by a mile! I think it's the
only Microsoft product that's worth it's salt. BUT, it absorbs
memory...not a good thing when I've got a time machine soaking it up.
I'll keep you all posted on what I end up doing.
