Just looks like they moved it to its own button.. to the left of the
"more actions" drop-down.

Yeah, I found that out the other day - very useful - easier to delete
mail. I first thought that Google had completely disabled permanently
deleting mail and you had to archive instead, but I soon looked at the
button below.

To continue with the idea of "never delete email", they are requiring
you to delete mail and then delete forever from the trash can. The
exception is for spam where the delete forever button is still there.
I think the problem was with people accidentally hitting that button
when trying to hit something else and not being able to undo it...

I tag some things as deletable, so if I decide to delete stuff later
it'll be easy. It also makes it easier to read some tags in
conversation view. A lot of autoresponder stuff or mail of only
ephemeral interest ends up tagged that way.

It is gone from the drop-down menu ... but it is now a button on the
left side next to the "Move to Inbox" button.
