Hello all.

I have a small suggestion with the great "Nested Labels" feature. I
love them and use them a lot, but I also love when things are clean in
the list.

That's why I love when most of my sub-labels are all hidden under a
closed parent label, unless there is something to read!

Here is the idea, as long as the sub-label doesn't have any mail to
read, the parent label stays in its original state (open if it was
opened by the user, closed if it was closed by the user). And when a
new mail arrives in a sub-label, the parent label automatically opens
itself.

Then it would make it very easy to see where things are moving or not.

I used to have a similar function under Outlook Express (no comment
lol), and it was really nice.

Thanks for the great work!

Regards,
Bruce

Alternatively (or in addition), it would be nice to set certain labels
to be auto-opened all the time *OR* to have the labels remember their
previous state from the previous GMail web login.

Assuming that someday the show-if-unread nested-label bug will be
fixed, auto-opening certain top-level labels all the time (or at least
remembering the previous open/close state) would be very nice.
