Math Equations (Equation Editor) in Gmail

In my work, I frequently have to email mathematical equations to
various people. I suggest developing an equation editor into gmail.
Preferably, the equation editor would understand latex (pronounced
latek) commands.

You can actually do this right now without much effort.

If you activate the "insert image" Labs feature, select "Web Address
(URL)" and fill in the <> with your latex code:
http://www.texify.com/img/<>.gif

BONUS: If you leave the .gif at the end while you type you actually
get a real-time preview.

For example, for the latex code $e^{j\pi}=-1$ enter
http://www.texify.com/img/e^{j\pi}=-1.gif

Does anyone know a similar thing that one can do when G-chatting?

because, dorky as it might be, it actually comes up quite a bit where
being able to input latex code and have math symbols come out would be
very very useful within a gchat.

There is something called mathim.com which allows for latex commands
to be put directly into a chat client. Would Google be able to
incorporate this into gchat somehow?

Whatever solution they managed to come up with I imagine...

WITHOUT any help from Google...

Google-ites ignore easy solutions...much more the complicated ones :-(

It's not ideal, but I've found you can simply copy things from Equation Editor and send it in emails. E.g  .
