Confirm before sending to VIPs

I have two people in my contacts list with similar names and email addresses.  One of them is a good friend who I email often, including political/questionable stuff.  The other one is a high-up at the company I work for.

I frequently ALMOST send to the wrong person, and catch myself at the last second.

I think contacts should have a "confirm before sending?" checkbox.  I could check the box for my boss, and it would allow me to confirm or back-out before sending him something disastrous.

In general, outgoing mail filters would be nice. You could block yourself entirely from certain recipients, you could construct "Mail Goggles", you could do a lot of stuff.

I agree. Another iteration of this feature that would be helpful would be the case of blocking the wrong address for someone. I recently found out that I had the wrong address for one of my friends, and the unintended recipient was obviously annoyed by the emails they kept getting. I would love to permanently block my ability to send to the address, especially when doing a reply all from a conversation that this address got mistakenly added to.
