Disable a virus scanner in Gmail

to Suggest a Labs feature
I suggest that it should be an option to disable virus attachment
scanner. I'm a Linux user and don't care about viruses, and also don't
want to wait several seconds.

Also: why the virus scanner scans the letter each time I look it, why
don't just scan it once and mark as "scanned"?

new viruses are added each day, so you never know if there's not such
virus that can harm linux system, they might not infect your computer
but if you will share your files with those who have other system,
they can get infected by you.

you still should re-scan, if the message isnt infected with a known
virus, but then later it is known it will pick it up. Great, your on
a linux server, but most are not... Security can not be compromised
for time. Its a few seconds. If you don't want it everytime... use
pop/imap and download them to your computer.
