Currently we have to give text only signature. There should be an
option for HTML signature so that we can style our signature. Also
multiple signature option should also be there

OMG, totally! I need purple ink and "Marker Felt" script. Th@ just me,
tho. But it would also be awesome if they had, like symbols put into
the sigs. Cuz I totally have to add the stars, then hi-lite it & make
it purple, and it takes a while. I have a lot to do, since I am a
budding writer, & if I just wanna send a quick 'heyyy!' e-mail, I have
to do all of th@ stuff. Great idea, whoever thot of it!

Year of course, this would be a very nice function! it would not only
appeal to the private user who just wants to "pimp" their signatures,
but also the minor and mid-sized cooperations and volounteer
organisations, who uses Gmail (eg. the Red cross youth
organisations???)

All the lab add-ons Gmail has and no html basic signature? Common,
that's crazy. I've also been waiting for a GNU programmer to come up
with something to fix this and posted this same question about 3 years
ago but still no customizable signature line :(

Crazy in deed. I know Google is going after business to switch to
Google Mail instead of Lotus and Exchange. The web interface is great
which is one of the best selling point but it doesn't do Rich text
signature or html signatures. Every business has a brand which has to
be maintained so I can't emphasize how important it is for the web
interface to support these feature. Best case is inline rich text so
the image is embedded instead of just adding a URL which usually gets
filtered on the client's side. Google team, good work but please, this
is so old school. It should have been included long time ago, hurry
up.

Regards,
Desperate Gmail user

btw, we just went Google Mail and stopped using Exchange. It would be
great to get rid of Outlook once and for all.

I completely agree on the html signature wish. Our wishes should be
Google's commands ;-)

I agree too, at least an option that put the picture in the
signature...

The rich text format signature is extremely important to my company,
I'm trying to convince everyone to switch our exchange server to the
google apps solution, but this missing feature really makes it hard to
sell the idea, I realize we could just stick to Outlook and connect to
gmail servers but then Google's solution just becomes an "almost
exchange server".....

I too agree. I often advise my clients to use gmail for many of it's
features, but lacking rich formatting on the signature really lets it
down. anybody able to write a gaget?

I'd like to add my voice to those calling for the rich text format
signature. It's one of the few things holding the Google mail solution
back from being great.

There are "gadgets" that will allow for HTML (rich formatting)
signature in gmail.

I won't name them here, as this is a google sponsored forum and they
are not made by google.
But if you use google to do a search for "HTML Signature in Gmail" or
"Gmail Signature - Greasemonkey" you will get alot of results.
A little head up though, 95% of the ways to apply html to gmail is
going to require the use of firefox, hopeful.
I'm currently trying to port the FF extensions to Google Chrome.

Although having the ability to construct HTML/BB Coded signatures in
Gmail would be the ideal thing and make Gmail the utopia of email.
Hopefully it will be made possible soon.
