Offline downloads each account mailbox separately, so presumably you
don't have several mailboxes downloaded/synchronised on your PC. That
would put a big dent in your local storage!!

your Dad, if he's using the PC as well?
It's basic privacy: would he want you to be able toread his e-mail
content? I'm sure the answer would be No.
Do you read his letters that come in through the post? Does he read
your private correspondence?

Same problem here - offline Gmail doesn't work offline, unless the
browser was already open when the computer went offline. Starting the
browser while offline simply causes a 'working offline' screen, or a
'can't find the server at ...'.

This seems elementary? What's gone wrong?

I see that other people are encountering this, to an extreme extent
with emails stuck for hours or days.

My issue is that even having a message stuck for 30 seconds makes this
impossible to use on my laptop.
I frequently send an email as my last activity before turning off my

How do you change which account you view with offline Gmail? When I
first opened it I had an option to choose my email address. Now it
just loads the email address I initially gave it and I don't see an
option to change the account.

I have the same problem also using my domain google app + offline
email, cannot send anything out and get error. Once I disabled the
feature it does not have issues.

- This issue is only seen with chrome, when I switch to IE8 it does
not have the same issue.

Two days with no issues after disabling undo send. Note offline and
undo send both worked fine for a few months then started playing up

You can try the following:

1. Go into Flaky Connection Mode
2. Go into outbox and use an action menu to move your message to
drafts
3. Open, modify and re-save the message

You can keep the message with attachment in Drafts, but neither online
or offline will let you send a message with an executable.

The simple fact is you were "breaking the rules" (in trying
to send an .exe file in an Gmail e-mail) and Gmail would
not normally allow you to send that message - even to

Only way to make it go away is to disable Offline Gmail.

It's an email that has an .exe in a zip file. I was emailing it to
myself, no one else, so I would not loose it.

ohkay so gmail says they cant monitor offline attacks if offline gmail
password is enabled, but why should gmail have to think of monitoring

Hi;

When I enable offline, GMail logo on top left becomes non-transparent,
I can see the white parts around the logo.

If I disable offline & remove all related data from the disk it
becomes normal again.

Actually, drag and drop uploads are broken in all browsers (on the Mac
at least, and I assume Win XP too). Just tried enabling advanced
attachment features in Safari and the new Chrome beta and you can't
DnD attachments in those browsers either, so it's really not a Firefox
issue at all.

I have a similar problem where sending email with attachments, they
show that they are "ticked" prior to send, I get a message that the
email is in the outbox, but going to the send items they are gone

Stuck in Outbox

I did a search, but there is no mention of this specific problem.

Note, I have no problems sending email right now. Anything I send
goes out. Sometimes it takes a few seconds in the Outbox and then
goes out.

Hi Michelle - one thing about this change is that is has broken
drag'n'drop attachments in Firefox (via the DragDropUpload addon)
since the new Offline mode forces Gmail to use new-style attachment
features (i.e. Flash) regardless of what preference the user has set
in the General tab of settings.

Good to know I am not alone. I can also add that the 0.4 update hasn't
fixed the issue (even after reinitializing Offline Gmail).

I have the same problem with exactly this error message . It stops
after downloading 100 messages. I tried on MacOS 10.5.6 , Ubuntu 9.10
and Windows XP SP2/SP3 with the firefox/safari.

How can I solve this problem? Is there any troubleshoot for this?
Can somebody check it?

Unlikely to happen ....!
The Outbox is an integral part of Offline, and it has now been added
to Online as well. This would imply it is a required segment of the
process.
You might try to disable the Undo experiment, in case that is causing
such undue delay.

See if you have the "Undo" lab experiment enabled - and if so, disable
it.
It is possible that those two experiments are clashing - although a
locked out account (which is what you're suffering for breaking the
limits imposed on your account!) doesn't always clear in 24 hours -
I've known people still being locked out after several days!!

You ought to ask in the normal Gmail Help forum - but I can tell you
that there are some versions of a Gmail Notifier that will output an
audio file (which can be a tune of a spoken announcement) when a new
message is received.

system?
Are you able to see the default set of labels OK?
What OS/browser combination are you running? Do you have any other add-
ons installed?
