Types of sockets

Hi all,


I want to know the basic difference between the unix-domain socket and internet socket..Is unix-domain socket used only by the processes of same computer or it can be used by the different computers (computers connected in a distributed system,  without Internet connection)..Can anyone help me??

             I have visited more than thirty sites to solve my query and I've studied a lot about sockets but still I have a little bit confusion about the difference between them..That's why I disscussed it.Kindly read it again and  spread light on the main points that were discussed.
