I had to play around a little, with trial and error, but I have
finally figured out the syntax for linking to an external website
within the definition (ie. cancer organizations):

<a class="ext" href="http://www.websiteurl.org" onclick="window.open
(this);return false" title="The Website Title">The Website Title</a>

Just thought I would put it out here for others who are newbies like
me.

Standard links work for me, like this: <a href="http://
www.example.com/" target="_blank">Example Site Title</a>

Sorry, after posting I realized that I only put external links in the
"Source" field, not in the "Definition" one.

Actually, I am putting it in the 'see' field.  Sending them to relevant cancer website.

BTW, you show your age when you use the word 'field'.  I still use that word, but few understand what I am talking about.  Started out when wiring boards was the computer work of the day and progressed to hexadecimal assembler language, cobol, rpg, apl, and then basic.  LOL  Now you know MY age!
