Hi,

First of all I would like to congratulate the team on coming up with such an ingenious name ,so apt and with a great level of pertinency .As has been the case with all GLOSS sessions I am sure it will hold the audience enthralled with its engrossing sessions with the speakers’ confident and matter of fact teaching or rather discussion I should say as it demands (and of course gets) full and full enthusiastic response and interaction from the audience.

And ,we are all extremely eager to know who The Santa would be.

The Big Gift (a backpack) is waiting to be dispatched...
and here are some of the responses that we got about the session,

----------------------------------------------------------

“Santa Query Language “session.

Note: This is been done not only to win the cool back bag, but also for winning my mind over OPEN SOURCE and bagging my mind over the concept of open source.

I am Ram Kumar, second year. I attended today’s session on SQL conducted from GLOSS by Sanjeev and Ramprakash. Actually I attended today’s session, only since Ramprakash was my roomy but later @ the end of the session I realized how worthy it is.

I usually don’t have interest over OPEN SOURCE for any reason. I had a idea that windows only have got the ability to make our dream and assumption come real. But today I understood that even a open source tool can also equally do that. “Hats off to GLOSS…”

Past :

  1. First one was in my first semester and it was conducted by Kumar Abishek about open source.
  2. Second one was in my second semester and it was conducted by dwarak regarding Java if I am rite.

So from this, I concluded that, open source is one thing that gives us the code and allows us to modify and it has no other feature as windows. So I got a wrong assumption about open source.

Present:

I came to know today only that there are some cool application such as mysql and workbench also available other than giving the source code concept. It was very easy and comfortable to handle DBMS without having much programming and coding skill. The enthusiasm level was in the peek till the end of the session. At the end of the session I came to know that my precious Sunday morning was not assassinated but enlightened.

Future:

I have decided to implement open source whenever and wherever it’s possible. ”SANTA”  has turned my mind towards open source, and I believe that today’s session has been a big milestone in my lifetime.

Please read the note given @ the beginning, once again.

    With regards

I attended ur session of SQL. It was really amazing. I really hate 2 write all those lenthy c & c++ programs. I was astonished to hear such an easy and intersting software ,free of cost. The way, u and Ramprakash spoke was quiet interesting. Your efforts 2 make the student's aware of gloss was spectacular. I wish you 2 conduct many more sessions like this. I am intrested in  joining the gloss, what should i do?

One more response by Miss.Maheshwari...

pros
:

To start with,am really enthused about the topic and its a pretty good choice.the session really helpd many "middle of the road" people like me.the session was short, concise, clear and logical.
According to me seminars must be like telling a good story and must have a clear take-home message as the memorable ones
(memorable for the right reasons).one such thing in this session is dat "dragon story",2 kool,2 gud ....1 prime fact 2 mention is dat no technical  problems happend lke errors n the code etc etc
both guys spoke clearly and at a good pace and it was not a monotone...THE WHOLE SESSION IS MADE CLEAR DAT "MYSQL IS FREE AND ITS EVERYWHERE"
on the whole the session was fully on track and focused.

cons:

->a touch of humor can still b made at places
->the session was more formal than casual
->ac could hav been provided
->instead of badges, bands, cds as gifts u could hav provided some chocolates which could hav servd u a dual purpose lke our hunger would hav reducd and u could hav prolonged ur session
