·         PowerGrid already offers consultancy services in overseas markets, such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Bhutan, among others. The company is still exploring opportunities in this sector in other countries.

Tata Power gears up for monsoon

·         Tata Power has initiated pre-monsoon checks and preventive maintenance of equipment at all sub-stations in the city. Tata Power said it has installed adequate number of ‘de-watering pumps’ at both distribution and consumer sub-stations to avoid flooding of equipment. To handle emergencies, dedicated teams are on standby at strategic locations across the city. Adequate stock of essential spares, tools and equipment, including transformers and switchgears has been ensured to minimise the response time to power interruptions.

·         Tata Power has already worked in Bhutan for the Tala transmission project through its joint venture Powerlinks and has another joint venture with the Bhutan government. It is currently developing a 114 MW Dagacchu hydro project with DGPC.
