* ADITYA BIRLA NUVO: The company's plan to acquire PANTALOON RETAIL (INDIA)'s Pantaloons retail format business has run into a technical hurdle at the Competition Commission of India.

* AXIS BANK: Has raised another $250 mln through foreign currency bonds.

* CIPLA: Has inked a pact with South Africa 's Aspen Pharmacare to develop generic products, to be launched in Australia .

* DALMIA BHARAT SUGAR: The company will acquire a sugar manufacturing plant near Kolhapur in Maharashtra . The plant has capacity to crush 2,500 tn cane daily.

* ESSAR OIL: Colombia 's Ecopetrol will sell 12 mln barrels of its Castilla crude oil to the company over one year, in a deal worth $1.2 bln.

* FDC: Company's share buyback offer will open Sep 3 and close Aug 16, 2013.

* IL&FS ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION: Has won a construction project worth 3.36 bln rupees in Gurgaon in Haryana, and another worth 1.58 bln rupees in Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

* KINGFISHER AIRLINES: Will operate only 85 flights per day instead of the earlier proposed 118 flights in summer schedule.

* LARSEN & TOUBRO: Plans to bring in partners in various infrastructure projects through sale of equity, Chairman and Managing Director A.M. Naik has said in a letter to shareholders.

* MARUTI SUZUKI: The company allowed workers to enter its Manesar factory more than a month after closing the plant due to violent clashes inside the premises. 

* NMDC: Has increased the contract price of key steel-making raw material by 8-13% for the Jul-Sep period.

* OIL AND NATURAL GAS CORP: To spend 150 bln rupees to drill 480 wells in 2012-13.

* ROYAL ORCHID HOTELS: Has opened a contemporary five-star business hotel in Hyderabad .

* SIEMENS: Parent Siemens AG is in internal talks to cut several jobs in the wake of deteriorating economic environment, particularly in Europe .

* UNITED SPIRITS: The company is understood to have called off its ambitious 6-bln-rupee backward integration plan amid debt woes.

* WOCKHARDT: Has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to sell hypertension tablet felodipine in 2.5 mg, 5.0 mg, and 10.0 mg strength. Has taken bondholders to court, disputing their claim on the final instalment of repayment.
