* AVIATION: Civil aviation minister has warned of shutting down the Patna airport for big aircraft unless the state government provides land to extend the runway.* DISINVESTMENT: Finance Minister plans to revive stake sale in public sector units, primarily those in which public share holding is less than 25%.

* GOVERNMENT: Raghuram Rajan, former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund, is expected to take over as the new chief economic advisor.

* INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Gartner Inc sees global information technology outsourcing spend rising 2.1% on year to $251.7 bln in 2012. Cognizant Technology Solutions said it will continue to focus on small acquisitions, which would help the company have a presence in new geographies.

* MUTUAL FUNDS: UTI AMC's board has recommended to its shareholders names of three candidates for the position of chairman and managing director.

* REAL ESTATE: US-based real estate group Trump Organisation has tied up with Panchshil Realty to build Trump-branded residential projects in Pune.

* TELECOM: Department of Telecommunications will ask the Supreme Court to extend the deadline for completing the upcoming auction of second-generation mobile telephony airwaves by five months until Jan 30. Second generation mobile telephone spectrum auction is likely to begin in November, with a delay of at least two months.
