* ACC: The company's cement despatches rose 6% from a year ago to 1.80 mln tn in September.

* ASHIANA HOUSING: Has bought developing rights of a 4.026-acre residential project at Mango in Jamshedpur for an undisclosed amount.

* ASHOK LEYLAND: The Company’s sales rose 21% from a year ago to 10,623 vehicles in September.

* ATUL AUTO: Sold 2,727 three-wheelers in September, up 8.6% on year.

* BHARTI AIRTEL: Has confirmed that it has received a notice from the department of telecommunications asking the company to stop 3G intra-circle services via roaming agreements.

* BRESCON ADVISORS: Nusarwar Merchants has made an open offer for 910,416 shares, or 26% stake, of the company at 123 rupees a share.

* COAL INDIA: The coal ministry has decided to charge the company a reserve price for the 116 coal blocks it was allotted. NTPC has agreed to sign new fuel supply agreements with the company.

* CORE EDUCATION: The Company’s arm has partnered with the UAE'S Higher College of Technology for next-generation solutions for teaching and assessment.

* GAIL INDIA : Has signed a long-term contract with Gazprom Marketing for importing 2.5 mln tn liquefied natural gas starting 2018-19.

* HERO MOTOCORP: The Company’s total two-wheeler sales in September fell 26.3% from a year ago to 404,787 units due to slowdown in the automobile sector.

* HIMADRI CHEMICALS & INDUSTRIES: The Company is likely to start the first phase of its coal-tar distillation plant at Odisha by March 2014.

* JUBILANT FOODWORKS: Is gearing up to face competition with a new look and a wider portfolio.

* KINGFISHER AIRLINES: Will not be allowed to operate until certified engineers give safety clearance to each flight. Due to labour unrest, the airline has announced a lockout until Oct 4. The Directorate of General of Civil Aviation has told the company to submit a timeline for payment of employee salaries and an operational preparedness plan.

* LARSEN & TOUBRO: The Bombay High Court has struck down an order issued by Chief Controlling Revenue Authority directing the company to pay additional stamp duty of 646.9 mln rupees towards registration of an agreement for development of Seawoods railway station complex in Navi Mumbai.

* MANGALORE REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICALS: The Company has put on hold its plans to open 122 retail outlets.

* NTPC: The Company is planning to revisit the overseas market to raise funds and is expected to raise another $700 mln between January and June.

* RELIANCE BROADCAST NETWORK: Has signed a deal with Dish Network to launch BIG Magic International channel in the US .

* RELIANCE INDUSTRIES: May put on hold investment into India's oil and gas exploration until the government removes the cap on natural gas prices and approves the company's capital expenditure plan.

* STATE BANK OF MYSORE : Has cut Base Rate by 25 basis points to 10.25% effective today.

* STEEL STRIPS WHEELS: Has reported gross sales of 992 mln rupees in September, up 24% from a year ago.

* STERLITE INDUSTRIES: The Supreme Court will consider the environmental report on the company's Tuticorin unit on Oct 9.

* TATA MOTORS: Sold 75,773 vehicles in September, down 4% from a year ago. Has launched the improved version of Tata Indica eV2 at price of 400,000 rupees.

* TATA STEEL: Despite weakness in the European market, the company's Europe operations are operating at 80-85% capacity.

* TILAKNAGAR INDUSTRIES: The Company and its arm Prag Distillery have inked pacts with Pernod Ricard to contract manufacture the latter's Indian made foreign liquor brands.

* UNION BANK OF INDIA : Has cut rates by 4-12 basis points on foreign currency non-deposit accounts denominated in US dollars and having maturity of one-five years.

* UNITED SPIRITS: Is likely to announce a deal with the UK 's Diageo Thursday. Diageo is expected to buy 2.5% stake in the company.

* WIPRO: Appoints Vyomesh Joshi as independent director on board.
