Impact of Fed move and diesel price hike
The Fed liquidity measure is likely to boost liquidity and positive sentiment is already reflecting in SGX Nifty. Diesel price hike by INR5/liter and steps to curb subsidized LPG supply is also positive on the India Inc on the whole, albeit short term inflation may go up. However this may send positive signals on policy front which is the need of the hour, hence improving market sentiment further. Impact on FMCG may be negative in the short term as consumers feel the heat and curb demand. Also IT sector, which continued to remain defensive may remain lackluster and decline for the moment after an initial spurt. Banking & finance may also in the long run be positive in the long run as INR may appreciate on positive sentiments. Today market is expected to open gap up led by oil & gas sector and metals. INR may appreciate.
