Next
Recently, The Week announced the results of their annual b-school survey for business schools in India. Interestingly, ISB Hyderabad leads the top 25 list of business schools in India, ahead of IIM-Ahmedabad.

The Week magazine recently announced the results of their annual business school survey for the year 2011.

Interestingly, Indian School of Business-Hyderabad leads the list ahead of the prestigious IIM-Ahmedabad which is ranked at number two, followed by IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Kolkatta ranked at three and four respectively.

The survey conducted by data provider MaRs (Monitoring and Research Systems Private Limited) is based on information received from multiple sources including data from over 800 management schools in India, besides survey responses from recruiters, students and alumni, consulting websites and online data sources.

Reportedly, the survey responses from the questionnaire sent to management schools rated the schools based on four prime dimensions, namely:

Input value: Parameters considered to assess input value comprised quality of entrance test, number of students with work experience, international students and students from other states.

Value addition: Attributes considered included international linkages, industry visits, visits of industry professionals to the school, profile and strength of the faculty.

Learning ambience: Attributes included infrastructure, IT and library facilities, industry-student interaction and conferences held in the school.

Brand value: the attributes included tie-ups with foreign universities, campus placement, average salary, profile of corporate visitors and profile of recruiters.

Also inputs from recruiters and human resource professionals were taken into consideration to arrive at the top 40 list of schools.

As for business schools like Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore, Indian Institute of Management -Lucknow, FMS-Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology-Mumbai, Narsee Monjee, Mumbai and Symbiosis, Pune that did not participate in the survey, the recruiters' scoring was the basis after the scores were normalised with other schools.

Mumbai and Delhi lead the top 25 list with six schools from each city.
