The long goodbye to
the old order
On the issue of
governance in India, with great pride we bring to you the views of two leading
agents of institutional change—TSR Subramanian (former Cabinet Secretary) and
Vinod Rai (former Comptroller and Auditor General of India). Both experts believe
that ‘political governance’ in India has decisively taken a turn for the
better. We believe that the potent combination of rising political competition,
automation of governance systems as well as the decentralisation of political
power will mean that irrespective of who forms the Government in 2014, the new
leadership will deliver better economic outcomes. Against the backdrop of
India’s governance systems improving and a mild economic recovery ensuing, we
continue to recommend investing in our ‘Good and Clean 6.1’ portfolio.
