* ABAN OFFSHORE: Has got a three-year contract of $152.75 mln from Petronas Carigali to deploy a jack-up rig off the Malaysian shore.


* ADANI POWER: Promoter Adani Agro's offer to sell 35.58 mln shares of the company received bids for 49.34 mln shares at an indicative price of 54.35 rupees each. 

* ANDHRA PRADESH PAPER MILLS: Promoter International Paper has moved the Supreme Court, challenging a recent order passed by the Securities Appellate Tribunal directing it to hike the open offer price to shareholders of the company.

* APOLLO HOSPITALS ENTERPRISE: A unit of the company, Apollo Health and Lifestyle, plans to spend 2.5 bln rupees over the next three to five years to drive a five-fold rise in the number of its branded healthcare clinics.

* BANK OF BARODA : Has cut interest rates on home loans of different tenures and amounts by up to 150 basis points.

 

* BANK OF INDIA : Has lowered its term-deposit rates on select maturities by 10-125 basis points with effect from Monday.

* CIPLA: Swiss drug maker F. Hoffmann-La Roche has moved a two-judge bench of the Delhi High Court challenging the order of a single-judge bench that refused to restrain the Indian company from selling anti-cancer drug Erlocip.

* COAL INDIA: Will try to complete signing all fuel supply agreements by December, Chairman S. Narsing Rao said.

* DR REDDY'S LABORATORIES: Has started manufacturing activated methyl ether polyethylene glycol, and developing and manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients new chemical entities at its UK facility.

* EROS INTERNATIONAL MEDIA: Its Hindi movie "English Vinglish" has collected 270 mln rupees in the opening weekend.

* ESSAR OIL: Has received the Reserve Bank of India permission to get external commercial borrowings of $1.5 bln in order to refinance expensive rupee loans with cheap dollar credit.

* GAYATRI PROJECTS: Has redeemed foreign currency convertible bonds worth 2.19 bln yen (approximately 1.47 bln rupees).

* GEOMETRIC: Has completed the merger of Delmia Solutions with its subsidiary 3D PLM Software Solutions.

 

* HDFC BANK: Has opened a representative office in Abu Dhabi .


* INDIABULLS SECURITIES: Promoter Orthia Properties has raised its stake in the company to 7.28% as on Oct 8 from 5.27% on Aug 14.

* INDIAN OIL CORP: Has cut price of petrol by 56 paisa per ltr, excluding state levies.

* JYOTI: The company's joint venture with Ranjit Buildcon has received an order worth 127.5 mln rupees from the Narmada Water Resources and Water Supply Department.

* KINGFISHER AIRLINES: RBI Deputy Governor K.C. Chakrabarty has said the company's debt-related problems do not pose a systemic risk to the banking sector. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation will ask the airline to stop ticket sales after it opened ticket bookings on its website from Oct 13.

* MAX INDIA : Lenders of the company have revoked their lien on 2.1 mln shares pledged by promoters--Boom Investments, Liquid Investments and Trading, and Medicare Investments.

* MCX: Government has deferred the proposal of the company for post-facto approval for foreign direct investment received before the government issued guidelines for foreign investment in commodity exchanges in March 2008.

* NHPC: The Arunachal Pradesh government awarded private companies contracts to build four hydro power projects even after the company had done extensive preliminary work on the projects in the form of Detailed Project Reports.

* PIPAVAV DEFENCE AND OFFSHORE ENGINEERING: Government has approved Pipavav's proposal to raise foreign equity via foreign currency convertible bonds.


* RELIANCE INDUSTRIES: Has scaled down investment in its Krishna Godavari D6 block by almost $3 bln to $5.92 bln on account of an unexpected drop in reserves. The company's key gas producing fields off India 's east coast could be exhausted in five years, Morgan Stanley analysts said in a report.

* RELIANCE POWER: The coal ministry has asked the company to stop mining blocks attached to the 4,000-MW Sasan ultra mega power project as the land has not been legally transferred to it. The company said the issue has been resolved.

* RIGA SUGAR: Board has approved issuance of up to 1.45 mln convertible equity share warrants at 17.20 rupees each.

* SESA GOA: Is likely to produce only around 33% of its 2012-13 production target of 15 mln tn from Goa .

* SONATA SOFTWARE: Has signed a pact with multi-channel commerce software provider Hybris AG for providing e-commerce solutions on the latter's platform. 

* TATA STEEL: Plans to have its primary focus on expansion in India , and aims to double production capacity at its Jamshedpur plant to 10 mtpa. The company also plans to focus on its greenfield 6-mln-mtpa steel plant in Kalinganagar, Orissa, which will be constructed in two phases.


* TORRENT POWER: Along with TORRENT PHARMACEUTICALS has acquired prime real estate in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi , at 1 mln rupees a yard for a total consideration of 1.11 bln rupees.

* YAMINI INVESTMENTS: Vandana Aggarwal has made an open offer to buy 62,400 shares, or 26% stake, in the company at 15 rupees per share.
