MARKETS

Asian Market is trading mixed as Hang Seng was down by 0.92% while Nikkei 225 was up by 0.96% and Chinese markets down

by 0.18%. Asian shares outside Japan fell, heading for the lowest close in two months, while metals and the Korean won slid on concern

 the so-called U.S. fiscal cliff will curb growth in the biggest economy. Japanese equities rose. Overnight U.S. markets were down by 1.45%.

SGX Nifty at 8:00AM was trading at 5653  with a loss of 50.00 points.

     EQUITY MOVERS:

  * Bhushan Steel 2Q profit 2.02b rupees vs 2.07b rupees a yr earlier. Analysts est. 2.21b rupees.

  * Indian Overseas Bank said it’s seeking an investment of 15b  rupees from the government to bolster capital and boost   lending.

  * Nestle India 3Q profit 2.67b rupees vs 2.61b rupees a yr ago. Analysts est. 2.92b rupees.

  * Patel Engineering 2Q profit decline to 188.9m rupees vs 301.1m rupees a yr ago.

  * Sonata Software posted 2Q loss of 259.8m rupees vs 90.8m rupees profit a yr ago.

  * Spicejet 2Q loss narrowed to 1.64b rupees from 2.4b rupees a yr ago. Analysts est. 1.16b rupees loss.

  * Tata Motors isn’t in talks on a partnership with Peugeot, Tata Motors spokesman Debasis Roy says in a Nov. 14 phone  interview.

German publication Manager Magazine reported Tata may help Peugeot with capital in case of an emergency. The company’s Jaguar

Land Rover unit reported Oct. retail sales   of 25,176 units, up 10% Y/y.

  * TVS Motor plans 7b rupee spending for expansion with holding  co. Sundaram Clayton and unit Sundaram Auto Components over 3 yrs.

 

OTHER NEWS:

  * Finance Minister P. Chidambaram to meet with the CEOs of state-owned banks in New Delhi.

  * India’s inflation unexpectedly eased to an eight-month low  in October. The wholesale-price index rose 7.45 percent from  a year earlier

 after climbing 7.81 percent in September, the Commerce Ministry said on Nov. 14. The median of 28  estimates in a Bloomberg News survey

was 7.9 percent.

  * India 2G spectrum auction has no bidders for Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Karnataka areas, telecommunications department secretary

R. Chandrashekhar said in New Delhi on Nov. 12.

  * Vodafone expects India phone tariffs to increase and sees  more consolidation in the industry, Marten Pieters, CEO of  the India unit,

MARKETS

Asian Market is trading higher as Hang Seng was up by 0.37% while Nikkei 225 was up by 1.88% and Chinese markets down

by 0.71%. Asian stocks rose, paring a weekly loss, as Japanese equities rallied amid speculation elections next month will hand

power to an opposition party that advocates more aggressive monetary easing. New Zealand’s dollar advanced. Overnight U.S.

 markets were down by 0.23%. SGX Nifty at 8:00AM was trading at 5630  with a loss of 09.00 points.
