* ASHOK LEYLAND: Sold 10,244 vehicles in June, 28% higher than in the previous year.

* BALLARPUR INDUSTRIES: Plans to transfer its copier paper units to arm BILT Graphic Paper Products and transfer the arm's pulp-making unit to the company.

* BERGER PAINTS: Looking for acquisitions in domestic as well as overseas markets.

* CAIRN INDIA: Life Insurance Corp of India has raised its stake in the company to 5.03% from 4.99%.

* CIPLA: Appoints Teva Pharmaceutical's former Vice President Frank Pieters to head European respiratory drugs business.

* COAL INDIA: Production in Apr-Jun stood at 102.46 mln tn, up 6.4% from 96.31 mln tn year ago.

* EDUCOMP SOLUTIONS: 750 employees, or 5% of its workforce, put in their papers; company says it has not sacked workers.

* GUJARAT PIPAVAV PORT: To sell shares to institutional investors to raise around $37 mln to fund expansion plans.
