Three isssues 
  1. Lesson 4.22, page 104 - I have heard and have reason to believe it is true that approach stall spin accidents are most likely to occur coming out of a turn using too little rudder. This may bear some comment. 2. Lesson 3., page 40 - I agree with the tow position taught at Seminole glider port that, with higher powered tow planes, keeping the tow plane a bit above the horizon is better. It results in a much lower likelyhood of slack line and makes for a more efficient tow. The risk of slack line is less with a decreased risk of towline breaks; however it does produce a slight increase in the risk of a broken tow line coming back and entangling the controls rather than dropping below the glider.... more »

Proposed change to Lesson 5.2 of FTMFG 
  I have recieved some feedback on the way I intoduced the landing pattern in Lesson 5.2 of the Flight Training Manual for Gliders (FTMFG). I have downloaded a PDF file to the "files" section of this group titled "FTMFG Lesson 5_2.pdf". This file contains proposed changes to the lesson. I would appreciate feedback anyone has.... more »
