This Week @ the GLCC:

August 4, Sunday – Volunteer Orientation/Training from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic community members and allies, who are interested in assisting with the day to day operations of the GLCC, creating and implementing new and innovative programs, and making a positive impact on the gay community. Please email glcc.cris...@gmail.com to let us know you’re coming! EVERY Week at the GLCC:

PERSAD’s Afterschool Program:  YOUNG ADULT ONLY! Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-7:00. Come in for a safe place to relax, play games and get homework help from our tutors!

FREE HIV Ora-Quick Testing:  ALL AGES! Thursday from 6pm to 9pm. Testing provided by the Pittsburgh AIDS Task force.

Youth Work Out Wednesdays: Come work up a sweat with Jodi and Sierra from 3:00-5:00pm!  Come out and get your exercise grooooove on 

Friday Night Youth Drop-in:  Every Friday night from 7:00-10:00 PM is the GLCC Youth Night Drop In!!  Snacks, fun and friends, who could ask for anything more?

Other Community Happenings:

Pittsburgh web series, “Shepard” tackles gay struggle in high school. Filmed with a Pittsburgh cast & crew in the North Hills, “Shepard” is a new and exciting series that confronts the many trials of teen life, including the prospect of gay teens finding acceptance in the modern world. To learn more and support this series, please visit http://www.indiegogo.com/shepardwebseries

It Gets Better - Calling all Youth! The GLCC has received a grant to make our own It Gets Better videos showcasing individuals from our community. This is a youth based project, and we are looking for volunteers to help generate participants, film, edit, and distribute our videos. QAMP is a summer camp for LGBT youth and their allies, ages 13 – 17, sponsored by Dreams of Hope. It will be held at Camp Emma Kaufmann, near Morgantown, WV from August 14th – 18th, 2012. Check out http://www.dreamsofhope.org/qamp for more information.

GLCC Big Cash Raffle Bash!! - Do you support your Gay and lesbian Community Center of Pittsburgh and its mission? Would you like to donate money and get a chance to win some BIG CASH at the same time?? Get your ticket to the GLCC’s GLCC’s Big Cash Raffle Bash!! Raffle Runs June 10 – Sept. 10th!!

Donate $100.00 to the GLCC and earn your chance at $20,000*! Only 500 Tickets available!!! You may purchase a ticket online by donating at our website www.glccpgh.org and going through paypal, please be sure to include your phone number!
If you donate online, you will receive a confirmation letter or email that you have been entered in the raffle.

Tickets may be purchased at the GLCC, 210 Grant street (contact any board member or Lyndsey sickler directly), at Cattivo bar at 146 44th st in Lawrenceville( contact Renee) or online atwww.glccpgh.org!

There will only be a total of 500 tickets sold for this raffle.
Each ticket is $100.00 donation to the GLCC. You will be required to give your name and contact information in order to receive your raffle ticket so you can be contacted if you win!!

The raffle will be drawn on September 10th at 5pm. In the event we sell 500 tickets before September 10th, we will draw the winner early!

The winner will receive up to $20,000* or 40% of all tickets sold.

REMEMBER the GLCC is a designated drop off space for the Pittsburgh TOTE bag project:  The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project, in partnership with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, collects gently used and new tote bags to lend dignity to the participants in the region’s food pantries.
