July is really shaping up to be a busy month for volunteering in Pittsburgh. 
 
We still have a big need for volunteers at various volunteer projects in the coming weeks, so we hope you can lend a hand at one of these fantastic upcoming opportunities:
 
 
GLOBAL POVERTY: Great American Water Balloon Fight (Strip District/Downtown)
Agency: Team Tassy
 
What's the only thing cooler than a water balloon fight in downtown Pittsburgh?  A water balloon fight in downtown Pittsburgh that fights global poverty. 100,000 water balloons. 3,000 people. 4 bands. Enough fun to melt your face off. Come get soaked.

ENVIRONMENT: Tireless Fridays (Braddock)
Agency: Allegheny CleanWays

Join Allegheny CleanWays for a clean-up of the Mon River near Braddock. Enjoy food and live music following the project. A great chance to get outdoors, have some fun, and do good!

SENIOR CARE: Help Make Seniors Safe at Home (East Liberty)
Agency: Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of SWPA
 
Help make seniors safe at home by participating in this Safety for Seniors service day! Safety for Seniors is a fun opportunity to make a direct impact on the health and safety of older adults in your community.

Help restore Emerald View Park, Pittsburgh's newest regional park. Enjoy beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh while removing invasive plants, caring for newly planted trees and shrubs, and helping to improve the trail entrance.

COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION: Lawrenceville Community Clean-up (Lawrenceville)
Agency: Lawrenceville United

Volunteers will work with Lawrenceville United to clean up vacant lots, pick up trash, paint over graffiti, and tend to various community gardens.
