I finally took up all the great advice on GlassyEyes and did the
online thing.

I ended up getting two pair of glasses from EyeBuyDirect.

They look good, but I'm having an issue with the lenses. I talked with
EBD chat support (always nice) and they seem willing to do a return
for replacement, but the person I chatted with wasn't really able to
tell me what might be wrong.

The best I can explain it is that the right eye seems to shift the
angle.

Looking through each lens individually, they seem correct, and
definitely let me see clearly. However, looking through them both the
right eye feels off and I quickly get a headache trying to focus. It
feels a bit like wearing someone else's glasses.

What I think *might* be the issue is my pupil distance. When I put the
glasses on, and look above the lenses at a distant object, then raise
my head so I'm looking through the lenses, the left eye just gets
clear. The right eye gets clear, but the image is shifted slightly to
the right. It's as if the right lens is angled incorrectly.

Would this be a symptom of improper PD? Or perhaps a symptom of
something else? I'm glad EBD is willing to replace the glasses, but
there probably isn't much point if I can't tell them what's wrong with
the current pair properly.

Thanks!

Induced prism, likely from an incorrect PD. At least, that's what it
sounds like from your description.

Have them checked against your prescription, locally. AND, have your
PD measured...never hurts to confirm what you ordered vs independent
measurements.

Wow, you describe the exact same thing I experienced.

I recently received the two glasses I bought from EyeBuyDirect. Both
of them are the same prescription as my old glasses. Except in one of
them I believe the prescription is incorrect. In my case it seems to
be the left lens. When I try to look at things in a distant with those
glasses my left eye seems to drift toward the right and I feel
crosseyed.

This is not the case for my other pair of glasses I ordered, so I
suspect they must of made a mistake on their part and I'm about to
give them a call.

That's a good description of the issue.

It's been a slow process (equally my fault) but it looks like a new
set it coming from them. We'll see what happens.

What was odd with the first two pairs is that while there was the
offset issue in both, they were different between the two pairs.

I did re-measure my PD several times several different ways. I did re-
adjust it a bit as my eyes are not quite on-center. Looks like my PD
is 29/31.

I'll report back once I get the new pair.

Well, I'm a bit bummed as the new glasses have the same exact issue.

My frustration is that when I talk to EyeBuyDirect, they claim that PD
really shouldn't be a big deal on single vision lenses and only
suggest that I order again. In otherwords, they don't seem to have any
idea as to what might be wrong with my measurements/order. ANd, given
that, I don't know what ordering again would resolve.

Could it be my Rx itself? Both lenses focus just fine, it's just this
'angle' issue is off.

They claim they don't get many returns like this so it seems like
there's something odd with my experience/order.
