  If you installed using macports, it&#39;ll probably be in /opt/local/bin. &lt;br&gt; Unfortunately, spotlight doesn&#39;t seem to index that directory. &lt;br&gt; -P.

  First step, did you actually complete the &#39;make install&#39; process, and where is &lt;br&gt; your git physically located? Can you invoke git directly using its full path, &lt;br&gt; eg using /usr/.../git ? -- Darren Duncan

  <title type="text">install on mac osx -- not working?</title>

  Hi All, &lt;br&gt; I followed the github workflow to setup my first project on my &lt;br&gt; macbook. The install went without errors, but when I went to the &lt;br&gt; terminal session to &#39;git init&#39; it did not find the git command. &lt;br&gt; Obviously (or not), its not in my path. My questions: &lt;br&gt; 1. Did I miss a step? &lt;br&gt; 2. What is the proper order to add the path?
