Girl Geek Dinners Philadelphia Updates
  • RECAP: Girl Geek Dinners Philadelphia: GGD PHL #6 Summer Dinner
Monday night, GGD PHL #6 took place. Cipher Prime, a local game development studio, hosted the event (allowed us to invade their space and they feed us!) and even provided some free games (thanks guys!). Mel from the Cupcake Friday Project provided some wonderful vanilla chocolate raspberry delights. They were delicious. Then, Anita Garimella Andrews, CEO at Sepiida presented on "Social Games – How to think about the Metrics that Matter."   A huge thank you to everyone involved -- including those who attended. Stay tuned for video, photos, recap, and slides!

July 28-29: Build Your Own 3D Printer
In this class, you will be building a MendelMax 1.5, the most advanced version of the RepRap 3D printer. Since many parts of the RepRap are made from plastic, they can be printed on a RepRap, meaning the RepRap self-replicates by making a kit of itself - a kit that anyone can assemble given time and some additional materials. It also means that - if you've got a RepRap - not only you can print out all sorts of fun stuff, you can also print all the plastic parts needed to make another RepRap for a friend, or use the knowledge to fix it, repair it, and 3D-print upgrades!

July 31: Intro to Haml and Sass -- NOTE DATE CHANGE
Haml is a way to make writing markup easier, faster, and less error prone. Sass is an interpreted form of CSS that allows you to add functions, variables, and 'mixins' to your CSS for increased speed and awesomeness.

June 27-29, 2013 (yes 2013): National Homebrewers Conference
An AHA conference is an amazing confluence of incredible beer, knowledge and community. This guide was created to help you get the most out of your time at the conference. It’s a lot to take in; there’s something going on for 16 hours or more a day. So, our best advice is to have a plan, and don’t be greedy. There will be more beers in the next event…and the next…and the next…you get the picture. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
