Okay, C::B is downloaded and extracted.

G95 is installed.

D: is my Windows XP boot drive.

D:\Fortran\bin is the directory in which G95's compiler is installed.

D:\Fortran\FortIDE is the directory in which I installed C::B.

I've made sure that G95 is the recognized compiler in C::B.

When I try to compile with C::B, I get an error message at the bottom
of the C::B screen.

It states:

Can't find compiler executable for G95 (or words
to that effect).

(I only wish to use this IDE for G95 Fortran at present.)

I pointed under the "Settings", "Compiler",
"Toolchain Executables" menu option of C::B
to D:\Fortran to attempt to induce it to see the G95 compiler
and linker within C::B.
This didn't eliminate the invisible G95 compiler error statement.
I even had C::B search for the compiler, and it too found the
D:\Fortran directory.

Is there some other variable that I need to set? I presumed that G95
set all the paths needed when it was installed (contrary to the
directions). I did nothing with those paths, so this might be the
problem. Any insights here relative to how G95 actually installs
itself and how the instruction manual (which could be dated) describes
the installation requirements could prove helpful.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

THE PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE DUE TO MY HAVING SELECTED THE WRONG
COMPILER WHEN I ORIGINALLY PRODUCED THE "HELLO WORLD" PROJECT (BECAUSE
A MING FORTRAN WAS THE ONLY ONE SHOWN WITHOUT SCROLLING DOWN THE
SELECTION LIST). THE POSSIBILITY OCCURRED TO ME THAT I'D BUILT THE
PROJECT INCORRECTLY WITH THE FORTRAN WIZARD, SO AFTER RESETTING
EVERYTHING TO WHAT LOOKED LIKE CORRECT VALUES IN G95 AFTER THE INITIAL
PROJECT WIZARD WAS RUN, I RE-RAN THE PROJECT WIZARD WITH THE NEW
SETTINGS. NO MORE FAILURES TO FIND THE G95 COMPILER.

NOW IT APPEARS THAT I NEED TO FIND A DEBUGGER "EXE" FILE FOR G95 TO
GET THIS IDE TO WORK SMOOTHLY.

ANY IDEAS? I CAN'T FIND THE GDB.EXE ANYWHERE ON MY COMPUTER, AND I
DON'T KNOW IF IT WOULD WORK FOR G95 FORTRAN.

DANKE SCHOEN.

I'VE NOW RESOLVED THESE PROBLEMS. I ADDED COMMENTS REGARDING MY
EXPERIENCES SETTING UP G95 TO WORK WITH CODE::BLOCKS AND INSTALLING
BOTH PROGRAMS IN MY OTHER POST.

I STILL NEED TO SET UP THE DICTIONARY.
