Hi,

I value the g95 compiler very much.
I tried to use it in combination with the Photran IDE.
Some time ago I reported a bug to the Photran team.
The bug appears to be g95-specific.
My problem was that when I was stepping through the code while it was executing (i.e. "debug-mode"), the "active line" made a leap-frog step to the header of the function/subroutine all the time for each line. The solution of the Photran team is to suggest alternative compilers:

"Since this is specific to the g95 compiler, we have decided to not fix this
bug. We think it has to do with where the compiler puts the debugging symbols.
Using gFortran with Cygwin's gdb and MinGW gdb, leap-frogging would not occur."

I would very much like to continue working with g95, also under Photran.
Is there a way following which you could (easily?) accommodate g95 to prevent this bug?
Or at least suggest the Photran team how to solve it?
This would help me (and others and the dessemination of g95) a lot!

Regards,

Arjan
