Dear All,

I wanted to try the option to build PGFs in the cloud. However, I can't really seem to figure out how this works.

The problem is that when I am trying to upload a PGF to a folder a created before with /new (just to test out the upload functionality), the folder seems to be empty even when I get a 204 response.
These are the URLs and the responses:

URL: http://cloud.grammaticalframework.org/cloud?dir=/tmp/gfse.1628250084&command=upload&path=/Users/Frank/Documents/workspace/GrammaticalFramework/bin/Foods.pgf

Response: HTTP/1.1 204 - [Date: Thu, 14 Mar 2013 19:53:41 GMT, Content-Length: 0, Keep-Alive: timeout=5, max=100, Connection: Keep-Alive, Content-Type: text/plain]

URL: http://cloud.grammaticalframework.org/cloud?dir=/tmp/gfse.1628250084&command=ls

Response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK [Date: Thu, 14 Mar 2013 19:53:41 GMT, Content-Type: text/javascript; charset=UTF-8, Content-Length: 2, Keep-Alive: timeout=5, max=99, Connection: Keep-Alive]

Response: []

Does someone know what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Frank

Dear all,

I encounter the very same problem (sending an HTTP request from an Apache). Actually, I also get a 204 response when I specify a non-existent path... Is there a way to find out when and where something goes wrong?

Best regards,
Christina

Why do you want to do this? While it might be technically possible, uploading PGF files to our server is not something we support or encourage as a general rule.

If you have the grammar source code and can compile it to PGF on your own computer, then you can also run the GF cloud services on your own computer with the 'gf -server' command.

I'm currently setting up an online demo for the automatic generation of GF grammars from ontology lexica, and it would be nice if the grammars could also immediately be tested there. Doing everything in the cloud seemed the easiest solution, but if this is undesired, then I'll put some effort into getting GF installed on our server. (That might pay off in the long run anyway...)

Best regards,
Christina

Hello Christina,

This makes sense. As Thomas writes, we don't really aim to serve all pgf files to be produced in the world. Therefore we have made it easy for everyone to run their own PGF servers. And difficult to upload PGF's on ours ;-)

Regards

  Aarne.
