Hi all,

I just wanted to clarify what the exact order process was in PGP as it
seems that the system is sending out 'new order notification' emails
when an order is created, which I wasn't aware of.

This is what I understand thus far (I'm using getpaid.paypal and I've
customised the putting of the item into the cart and forcing a user to
checkout straight away btw):
1. User adds item to cart and when they're happy they checkout.
2. A new order notification email is sent out?
3. The user goes through payment process, either offsite or onsite.
4. I'm assuming no more emails get sent?
Thanks,
Tim

Just further to this email. I found out today that this is the email
sent to the online shop admin to let them know an order has been made.

Does it happen only when you use paypal?
I thought that the email to the merchant/customer was sent only when
the authorization of the payment has been approved.

Unsure, I've only tested against PayPal.

Yeah, it does appear so. After I reread the email I realised it was the
email to the merchant.

Thanks,

I just made some changes to this code (but haven't checked it in yet).

As far as I could tell the emails should be sent to both the merchant and the customer of an order is authorized.  For paypal that is when the user is redirected offsite.  For most other processors it is after the user enters their credit card information and the third party processor approves the charge.

The change I made was to add simple templating to the messages and the ability to send emails on authorization, charge and decline (I didn't see a finance workflow transition for refund or I would have added an email there)
