I am interested in a list of the largest businesses in the US.

Does anyone have a dataset that is a list of business names?
Perhaps with information like URL and address, but not really
necessary.

Hoover's also has an API you can use: http://developer.hoovers.com/

Thanks, but this only gives me the top 10 or so.

I am looking for on the order of 10K or 100K businesses names.
I prefer the DBA, i.e. what consumers call the company, not its legal name.

Thanks,

Joseph

Thank you!

I see that the viewer for individual company pages draws together a
lot of information, from the links within the company entities.
I would like to retrieve this full company information page, and
augment it with more information.
Is there an easy way to do so?
Is the source code for the viewer available?

Thanks,
Joseph

Joseph -- take look at Freebase's API for this.

This might be derivative of the freebase data, but here is another API you might look into for corporate affiliation and company names.

It's not, they derived it themselves through a big-ass SEC filings
cleaning effort.
