Good day gerris experts,
I have recently browsed through river.c and can see that there has been a lot of development in terms of resolving the vertical structure of shallow water bodies.
I would like to know whether it is possible to implement the wind drag such that it is dependent on time, magnitude and direction. This will allow wind-current effects to be modelled if the user has a wind time series. I know that delft3d allows a user to specify a wind timeseries (at 10m above the free surface), as well as specifying a drag coefficient. I mention delft3d only as implementation example.

Best regards,
George

Hi George,

The "dut" parameter of GfsRiver is a GfsFunction so, yes, one could
include complex time-dependent parameterisations etc... I have updated
the wiki page to make this clearer.

Note however that at the moment one can only specify a free-surface
condition for one component of the velocity field. This is because I
have focused on 2D test cases (x-z). But this limitation will be
removed in the near future.

cheers

Stephane
