Whenever I think of KGMC there were some great moments. And the best part was
all of us became more civilised-we feel we were lucky to belong to a
institution where ragging was done but with some decorum-and
all of us were proud to carry the same tradition forward.
that the ragging, if done should never be done with any violence.
Many of you will remember the day when Halim sahib hurriedly
called the whole first year class in the main Administrative building and
introduced Mr. CS Pandey to recognize him and inform the authorities if
'this man is involved in any of the ragging activity'
We do not know till today what was his fault.
Lucknow has been a den for Pandeys.Only few have changed to Pandeya.
The bhang culture was their copyright; One day one of our colleague was passing urine in front of medicine department
little towards the department of Juris.Perhaps he thought medicine department
is not better than vast urinal.Or before he wanted to reach the resident hostel he wanted to be little lighter.
It was a lunch time and many of the registrars of different departments were passing and saw nothing wrong in it.
One registrar while retuning after taking his lunch could not believe his eyes;he is seeing one guy passing urine for last one hour.
No surely he should be suffering from Diabeties Mellitus or Insipidus. Now he has to diagnose it by not asking the fellow. He hid himself from the scene
and continued watching for few minutes. He found the guy is still standing in that posture and he is sleeping. He went to Opthalmology department and informed Dr. Garg
"Sir your one of the registrar is sleeping in standing position in front of Department of medicine"
One Junior was posted in Emergency department he had a call from one of the IAS must be an secretary."Sir, can you give the telephone number of Dr. GP Agarwal"
"Sir I am a new doctor in Casualty and the right person to ask this question is PRO"
The secretary repeated his querries. But this house officer became furious-and cut the telephone and said I am busy with the emergency.
Dr. Bhagat was the CMO of casualty was supposed to reply to Dr GP Agarwal.
Dr. Bhagat asked this house officer, "If you had told the number you wont loose anything and Telephone card is hanging over the telephone"
"These secretaries think doctors are their servants"
Dr Bhagat threw a question which was valid one , "Suppose your father was on telephone on other side"
"That secretary might be your father"
Then we had one Dr. CD Pandey who was table tennis champion. And those days Vipin Gupta was a very good player. But he was nothing in front of him.
I tried my hand on this game but ball was so small that it will always pass near my ears till I bought a table tennis table and practiced a lot to see I defeat atleast Vipin.
When I started flying on the seventh Cloud-I could beat anybody. I came across a chinese Coach watching him coaching the players-I realized I had learnt all wrong.
And the point was validated when A Chinese veteran did not allow me to score one point. And he was older than me.
Lucknow was a historical town where the beauti will start from Charbagh station where they mounted the statues of Keelar, and Pathania brothers.
Since it is the best place for 'passenger watchers'-like that 'Ali' became the greatest bird watcher-I will pass my leisure time on the plateform.
I will have my white apron well pressed and well folded waiting for bus no 5 at Latouche road at Gurudwara crossing. Lalji used to live at Lal kuan. Then gradually I started shifting to the charbagh station
since the bus will start from the station itself. One day one of the passenger came to me running towards me, "Sir You are a dear"
"One of your colleague is run down by the bus". I ran in the direction he pointed out. I saw Amarsingh was lying on the ground the whole crowd collected around him though there was no drop of bloodon his clothes He confirmed
and said yes he was run over by bus. I took him to the department of Orthopedics there he was seen by a house officer and he warned me to use my brain" How can he have all his bones intact and the bus has passed over him"
